Hi there.

First, I have to thank you (Magnus) for continuing to upgrade a very useful program. It looks like you've outdone yourself.

Now on to the questions.

First, I'm a registered 2.x user. How do I transfer the registration to the new version?

Second. I have tried to read 4 digit track numbers in file names to create 4 digit track number tags, and it seems to only read the first 3 digits. Is this a known bug, or am I doing something wrong. (I also had trouble using the advanced mode to read tracknumbers, this worked for me on version 2.18. Is there a problem with this section or did áI just forget how to do this)

Third, contrary to what the e-mail said, I had to register in order to post to this board.

Again, thanks for the upgrade. áIt's greatly appricated.

I'm glad you like the program.

About the transfer of license:
The license is transferred either by registering the new 3.0 installation exactly like you registered the 2.x version (do not mention any of the details regarding this here), or by copying the file "mp3ts.rg" from the old installation dir to the new installation dir.

About the tracknumber issue:
Earlier versions of Mp3/Tag Studio only supported tracknumbers up to 255. This was a relic from the same limitation in ID3v1.1 tags, but Mp3/Tag Studio 3.0 handles tracknumbers of practically any size. Have you tried it with version 3.0 and still failed? In that case, please let me see an example of a filename and the template string you were using, and I will advise.

About having to register to start new topics:
This was a mistake, and it is now fixed. Now everyone can start new topics, registered or not, just as was originally intended (thanks to wintermute for first bringing this to my attention). Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks for the info. The registration worked fine.

Here's and example of the file names I'm working with:

CBSRMT 1239 81-09-04 Doublecross Death.mp3

Here's the template I'm using:

<TRASH:7><TrackNr:4><TRASH>.mp3

What I get is a track number 123, or if I set the leading zeros to force 4 digits (thanks a bunch for that feature by the way)
I get 0123. If I change the trash to 6, I get 0012, and if I change the trash to 8 I get 0239. It seems to only find 3 digits no mater what I set up.

Thanks again.

Dale

Oops, seems like a missed a small detail in that code. :p

The bug is fixed now, so it will work in the next bugfix upgrade, which should be released relatively soon (big upgrades like 3.0 almost always need a smaller bugfix release a few weeks after the main release).

Thanks for the report!

Stay tuned...
