-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Mp3/Tag Studio 3.5 (beta 19) released! started by Magnus Brading Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 16 2007,12:19 Beta 19 was just released, here's what's added/fixed: * Improved experimental Windows Vista support. (I don't have any Vista machine to test it on myself, so please go ahead and let me know about your results here in this thread) Enjoy! Posted by: YoDJMC on Sep. 16 2007,18:31 All the typical functionality I use (autotag, auto rename - inc setting filename formats, editing of tags directly) all working well with no problems on Vista. It is a pleasure to use such great tool again after suffering with others for the last six months! How come I can take 6mths not getting the hang of other tools and within 5 mins I have everything running smoothly with mp3tag studio, and just retagged and renamed 200 mp3s in mins. <license related question edited by admin> Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 16 2007,18:50 Thanks for the confirmation! I'm glad it works, and I'm glad you like it too. Please do not discuss license/registration details on this board, but please just contact me by email and I'll assist you with that too! Posted by: john10882 on Sep. 17 2007,13:16 Installed beta 19 on Vista Home Premium without any problems. However, installed it as administrator. Thanks for the Vista update Magnus. John Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 17 2007,14:08 Thanks for the confirmation! Posted by: calberga on Sep. 17 2007,15:15 Is this release recommended for Vista-avoiders, as well? Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 17 2007,16:30 Yes, of course. no problem. Posted by: chrism on Sep. 17 2007,22:30 Thank you very much for getting the Vista support done! Everything works fine. Maybe a small problem with the Shell Extension: I had to disable and re-enable it. But never mind. Possible a previous installation failed. Please continue to develop this great piece of software. After upgrading to Vista and being unable to use Mp3/Tag Studio, now I know, I can't live without it ;-) Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 18 2007,10:51 Hehe, thanks for the confirmation, and I'm glad you like it. Posted by: bugmenot on Sep. 19 2007,06:44 Glad to see some development! To rephrase an earlier question: Are there any improvements that XP owners will benefit from in this release? To me there is some hassle involved in upgrading from (the already quite well-functioning, thank you! EDIT: been testing it a bit now. Looks and feels good. Noticed three things. Some silly error came up when starting by directly clicking the mp3ts.exe. After some quick thinking it turns out that earlier (beta16 or 17, I'd believe) I've had to have mp3ts to start in compatibility mode for 98, or it would give me an error. Obviously with this version that trick wouldn't work any more, but all the better since it is no longer necessary! Get the feeling that the gui is a tad lighter, more modern. This is probably just my imagination, since the only thing I'm sure has changed is the black frame around the file explorer. Which btw did just fine. Also, the file explorer defaults at "simple folder view", ie that only the active folder is open, the other ones folds back up when a new folder is picked. This behaviour is new, no? I'm not sure if I think this is a good thing. Is it, or will it be possible to turn this off? Choice is always good. Other than that, it feels more robust and responsive than ever to use, but it's too early to say this for sure. Anyhow, all updates to this precious thing deserves Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 19 2007,10:27 Beta 19 is completely focused on the Vista compatibility fix, yes, so as long as you're a registered user (i.e. your beta 18 doesn't expire) you can continue using it until the next update is released. Posted by: Filippas on Sep. 22 2007,14:14 Great, the new release for Vista. I also tested it. Install works fine. Shell integration did not work for me. Select folder > right click > ts edit option is not there. But still testing it. Thanks for the update end |
