I'd like to copy (not move) the data in the "Composer" field to the "Comments" field. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it? I'm going to run it on over 10,000 files, and don't want to screw it up. Thanks. Posted by: Disposable Hero on Dec. 19 2003,22:44 I'm pretty sure that copy and not move is the default process for the Direct Tag Manipulation tool. For your operation, you should be able to do this by: check the Advanced Mode checkbox in Direct Tag Manipulation. Pull the slider bar all the way up, so that only the top 2 fields are selectable. Use the dropdown on the right-side field to select <Comment> Select all of or clear the text in the left-side field. Right click in that field, go to the Advanced V2 Fields option, select <V2_TCOM> Composer from the flyout menu. Then do your thing. For your safety: Make some copies of files intended for modification and move them to a different directory. Use those for testing. Make sure that Preview Mode is checked if you want to see what will happen to the files as a result of the operation. This is another of those things that take a lot longer to explain than to do ![]() end |
