Recently Ive found some of my files names are not the same as my tag fields.
Maybe this happened when I first started using mp3 ts and didnt remember to untick some boxes.
Or maybe they were like that when I downloaded them.

Anyway my question is this:
What parsing template would I need to find files that didnt match their artist.
Ex. Frank Zappa - Joe's Garage.mp3
the artist tag field actually says Michael Jackson.

How can I filter out all my mp3`s with mis-matched artist names?

Thanks in advance.

If I were you, I would just do an auto rename on all of them, with the desired template. This is probably the easiest way, and I see no disadvantages with it. Right?

So do you mean to just auto rename tag artist based on file name?
Yes that would work.
Problem is I may have done more than just change the artist, Im thinking that the genre has been changed and the album.

But I suppose a rename of all the 'loose non album ' files wouldnt hurt.

Ill give it a try and let you know.

cheers me dear :)

You can always try it in preview mode first if you are uncertain about the results. That is always a good idea.

Well, the preview mode should handle that too, but I guess you only need to test it on a few of them if you don't feel like reviewing the preview results of all 2000 files. :) And you'll always have the undo function if things were to go terribly wrong anyway. ;)
