I wasn't sure whether to put this in off topic or in the suggestions area.  Let me know for next time.

My question is whether it's possible to have the board highlight (or otherwise point out) topics that have new responses I haven't read yet?

What I need to do now is guess when the last time I was here was and check the TIMES of the latest posts.  My memory is not that good!  :D  I know I can subscribe to the topics, but I'd be subscribing to nearly every one of them and would need to keep adding more.

As it stands now, I find myself re-reading the same messages over and over.  As the board gets busier, this is really going to get time consuming and extremely annoying.  I don't want people to stop coming here because of that.

Another nice feature would be to have it "jump" to the first new response you haven't read once you click on the topic.

Other than these, I love the board!

Magnus... You probably know where I got these "ideas" from:  The Empeg board.  :D

If I misunderstand you, please tell me, but here are some things you can do to accomplish what I make out to be your intention:

First, the small icons to the very left of each topic indicate if you have read all the posts in these topics or not (and also some other stuff, see the legend at the bottom of the topic view page).

You can also click the "New posts" function at the top of the page to get a list of all unread topics containing new posts, in all the forums at the same time.

You can click the "Mark this forum's topics as being old" at the bottom of a forum view page if you don't want to read all the topics yourself, but still want to mark them as being read. To do this for all posts in all forums at the same time, you can also click the "Mark all topics as being old" at the board root page.

Also, you can track all new posts in an entire forum by clicking the "Track this Forum" function at the bottom of that forum's topic view. Then you won't have to track any single topics in this forum, hence no need to "keep adding more". This subscription must only be renewed every 30 days I think, that's all.

And finally, yes, it's ok to submit suggestions for the board in this forum, no problems.

PS. Some of these features probably need you to allow cookies in your browser, but that goes for practically any "active" website on the net today.

Awesome!  You nailed it.  The icons are the indicators I was looking for.  I just didn't see the legend for the icons.

Thanks!
