-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: browse/edit tags tab - mp3 info source started by falko Posted by: falko on Sep. 16 2008,05:03 In MP3 Tag Studio, on the Browse/Edit tags tab, there is a group titled MP3 info for file. Where does this infomation come from - is it part of the mp3 file or header or is it calculated by MP3 Tag Studio? I have some files where this information looks strange in MP3 Tag Studio (MPEG Version 2.5, etc.), so I looked at the same files in another tool (MP3 Tag Tools from SourceForge). The attached capture shows the MP3 Tag Studio information at the bottom of the capture and the information from MP3 Tag Tools at the top of the capture. None of the information agrees between the 2 tools with the exception of the file size! Which tool is correct? Is something in the mp3 file messed up, or is one of the tools calculating this information incorrectly? Is the information in this grouping going to matter at playback time? Thanks for any insight you can provide on what is going on here. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 18 2008,17:04 This info is taken from the mp3 frame headers (bunches of them inside each file, normally from the first one, but in some cases from several of them). It could be that some headers are corrupt in the file, or that there is some bug in one of the two programs. You mention an attachment, but I cannot see one? Posted by: falko on Sep. 18 2008,23:44 Sorry - somehow the file wasn't attached. I'll try this again... end |
