i have a couple of songs with constant bit-rate that display one lenght in winamp but continues to play much longer after the displayed end-time.

most likely my mp3s are corrupt - but i think it must be possible to re-calc the lenght and update the file header.  perhaps from within your program?

Are you completely sure that they have constant bitrate? In that case they might have had a faulty VBR-header added to them before, which causes this behavior.

Anyway, it should work to use the VBR repair in Mp3/Tag Studio on them to create a new VBR-header. Then the displayed play length should be correct.

Even though the VBR-repair mode should not be potentially dangerous to normal files, always make a backup of your files before attempting any repair process, especially when they are suspected to be corrupted in unknown ways.
