I have a directory of MP3s that for the most part are named:

Artist - Title.mp3

I'd like to set the tags based on the filename but also add the fields Album and Genre without having to type them in.  All files in the directory will have the same Album and Genre values.

So, what I'd like to do is:

1. choose the working directory
2. set the default values for Album and Genre
3. click once to set the tags with Artist and Title taken from the filename and Album/Genre taken from the defaults for all files in the directory.

Something tells me this program can do this but I don't see how to set the default values.

Suggestions?  Thanks.

Yep, that is exactly what the "Mass set tags/flags" tool is for. :)

Ah ha.  I missed the paradigm.  Need to use one tool at a time.

In this case, I used 3 steps:

1. "Auto tag (from filenames)" to set the Artist/Title from the filename.

2. "Mass set tags/flags" for setting the defaults for Album/Genre.

3. Then for good measure, "Auto rename (from tags)" to clean up the filenames.

Very cool.  It worked great.  I will register.

Thanks.
