 Have you considered adding "clipping" detection or normalizing to MP3/Tag Studio??

I've been going through my MP3s to adjust the gain so that the mix albums I record have a common playing volume (ie. no loud tracks alternating with soft tracks, unless it's intentionally that way).  Also, I've been adjusting the volume so there is no clipping.  I found that MP3Gain works well for this.  The source is free - have you thought about adding this capability ?

Thanks

I have considered it before, but because there were many more things that I thought had higher priority, it got placed a bit far down on the todo list. But sure, it's on the list after all, so I may implement it in a future version. :)

Yup, please do, It really is one of the more useful features to have in a tagging-program, also the ability to read, and possibley add ape-tags could be cool.

Magnus,

Having a feature like this would put the icing on an already delicious cake. MP3Gain is the one to follow as I think this is the best implementation of "normalizing" I have seen, heard, used ,etc.

Cool..............

One thing I noticed about MP3 Gain (and I love that program), is that after using it on all my VBR mp3s, all of them need the VBR header correction or whatever it's called.  Before MP3 Gain they're ok, but afterwards they need it.

Can anyone comment on this?

My guess would be that it either adds some tag data to the file, hence altering its size, or messes up the VBR header if it believes it is a normal mp3 frame that needs to be "gained".
