-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Parsing the ending last two words from field started by nattjakt Posted by: nattjakt on Feb. 05 2010,14:29 Hello again, forum! This is the format of my Album Tags: Avatar 2cd Limited Edition 2004 TEST I'd like to parse the 2004 to "Year" and TEST to "Comment" - problem is, among all my files, I've got any number of words before the two last ones (those two are always the last ones, though). I saw that the filter setup supports "begins with or ends with", but I haven't found any option anywhere else to focus on specifically "the last word of field". Thanks for your time! Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 05 2010,17:19 Yes, when the filenames contain no distinguishable separators between different fields, it is hard to make Mp3/Tag Studio parse out the right values in a generic way, sorry. ![]() Posted by: nattjakt on Feb. 05 2010,17:42 Hm - well, I've parsed the album tags out from folder paths on the form of: Bondage_Fairies-What_You_Didnt_Know_When_You_Hired_Me-2006-TEST So the separators are there, it's just that there are a random number of fields leading up to the last two ones. If it were just "Artist"-"Album"-2006-TEST that'd be no problem, it's just that there might be "Album-CD2-Concert" in place of just "Album". Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 06 2010,00:50 Yes, but the problem is then that there still isn't any distinguishable separators between those different fields, i.e. the album and the "CD2", "concert" etc that you describe, right? Posted by: nattjakt on Feb. 06 2010,19:58 But does there really have to be that, though? I mean, one can parse the first word (Hi) out of this: Hi-How-Are-You in your program - easily, too. There's no way to simply reverse that, so that I can parse the last word instead (You)? Thank's a lot for your time, by the way! Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 06 2010,20:37 I can't think of any way to do this with the currently supported fields. Of course it could be implemented, but it's always a compromise between simplicity and power with specific operations like this, and so far the need for this has been very small. Posted by: nattjakt on Feb. 07 2010,01:44 Dang ![]() Ah, well, I'll figure out some other way to cut it out with some other software. I won't be happy, though - your software's still the best in the whole world, you know ![]() Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 07 2010,03:23 Hehe, thanks. ![]() end |
