Hi there.

I just found this most exellent software. I have one question though...

Scenario:
I have a folder named: "Artist - Album"
In that folder I have a bunch of mp3´s named: "Artist - Song.mp3"
The ID3 tags of those mp3´s are all bad formated and need to be fixed.

I need the ID3 tags to be formated like this:

Title: The title of the song (no prb here)
Artist: The artists name (no prb here either)
Album: The name of the folder (minus the artist)

Ex.
Folder: "Marilyn Manson - Lest we forget"
I want the "Lest we forget" part to be put in the Album tag.

Can I do it with your software somehow?
I´m using the 3.5 (beta 19) version.

thank you

EDIT
I just realized I may have put this topic in the wrong section.
sorry

EDIT 2
Do´h!
I just found "Mass set tags/flags" in the sofware where I can do what I want.

BUT, It would be better (I think) if the abillity to set the Album tag to the name of the folder was in "Auto Tag (from filenames)" section so I can do what I want with One click :)

Yes, this is very easy, simply use a template like the following in the auto tag tool:

<TRASH> - <Album><\><Artist> - <Title>.mp3

ahhh.. that worked like a charm! thank you!!
one more question.

When I autotag, is there a way to only write to ID3v2 and not to ID3v1?

Oh , and yeah, if I want the artist to also be in the album tag, how do I do that?
like so?
<Artist> - <Album><\><Artist> - <Title>.mp3
(couse I tried and I cant seem to get 2 "artist" in the same row

1) In the "File" drop-down menu select "Settings".  The first item is "Tagging core".  There you can specify which (V1 or V2) tags are considered primary, and you can select whether to write to only the primary tags or to both (if possible).

2) If, indeed, the artist is in both the directory and the file names, and if they are consistant, then use the pattern:

<Album><\><Artist> - <Title>.mp3

Note, in some of my taggings, either compilations or things like operas, the Album tag contains something like Various Artists, or Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, while the artist tags will differ from file to file.  However the above should work even in such a case.
end
