rename & tag from dir name
...is this possible?

tags and filename renamed by the information from directory name





dir: (label)catalog#000.-.artist.-.album.(1999)
 
          information typed in







   || [/I]information from directory name[/I]

tags: TRACK.Nr001 - ARTIST - COMPOSER <<(label).catalog#000 - ALBUM NAME

                   ||
 information from    
   the original filename or tag








filename: #001.-.songname.mp3

  information from    
        the original filename or tag

You could do it in two steps:  do a "Auto tag (from filenames)" using an "advanced mode" name format.  The format I use is:

<Genre><\><Artist><\><Album><\><TrackNr> - <Title>.mp3

That format is getting tag info from the file name, the parent directory, and the "grandparent" and "great-grandparent" directories.

Then perform a 2nd step: "Auto rename (from tags)" and construct an ouput filename format spec to your liking.
