Here ya go, remember this tutorial doesnt alter filenames at all. Of course there are easier ways to do this but I didnt want to alter the filenames in any way for reasons that I wont go into here. If there is an easier way to do this please let me know.
----------------------------------------------------------
Do you ever download Various Artist albums that have this type of mistake:. (I think this happens when the Various Artist Box isn't checked in Exact Audio Copy)
01 - Freddy McGregor And Culture-t Every Little Thing.mp3
track and title not separated by anything.
Tag info also monged
Title: Freddy McGregor and Culture-t / Every Little Thing
Artist: This Is Dancehall
Album: Vol. 4
I thought that this type of mong up was a hand edit type fix but I just found out a way to fix it
What you can do is to temporarily rename the filenames. by doing this you can then extract the info to the tags.
Title: Freddy McGregor and Culture-t / Every Little Thing
the " / " will be replaced with a " - "
Then after you can use the undo feature to rename the filename back to its original state.
Ok pencils down and eyes facing the blackboard please......
Click on 'Auto rename (from tags)' tab.
Use the same settings I have
Hit enforce and now you can see the filenames should have changed with the info you need.

Now go to the 'Auto tag (from filenames) 'tab.
What we need is the info from those filenames to go into our Artist and title tag fields.
Check the title, artist and track boxes. Use the up down arrows to sort them to order.

Check the advanced box.
Now you can use the right click to insert the valid fields into the template
what we want to do is add a few 'trash' fields to parse out that album crap.

01 - Vol. 4 - This Is Dancehall - Freddy McGregor And Culture-T - Every Little Thing.mp3
<TrackNr> - <TRASH> - <TRASH> - <Artist> - <Title>.mp3 this is what we want in that box.
Hit your enforce button.
Now if you go to the 'Browse/Edit tags and flags' tab you will see the changes have been made and all your tags look funky !

So now what do we do with our filename that was renamed?
Easy , go to 'Auto rename (from tags)' tab
Hit the UNDO button and we have our old filenames back.

Close Mp3 Tag Studio Make tea, change your mind and go out to get beers.
