Magnus,
Just discovered something I CAN'T do with MP3TS!!
You must be slipping in your old age!
:p
Of course, I'm going to look pretty silly if you come back and say "Oh yeah, you can do that THIS way..."

Anyway, I have a bunch of MP3's in a folder. Some of them are CBR and some of them are VBR. What I want to do is an advanced rename (with a new path\old filename), filtering so that only VBR files get moved to the new folder. However, it seems the filter tool doesn't have an option for CBR/VBR/ABR. Am I missing something?
As always, bloody brilliant piece of software.

Hehe, you are correct, the filter does not have such a feature yet. This is in large part because determining if a file is VBR or not (i.e. not trusting only the presence of a VBR header) can be a relatively time consuming analysis, but maybe I'll include it after all in a future version.

But as always, there is at least one way to work around it. :) You could for example temporarily store the bitrate of the song in a tag field, and then filter on this... ;)

Mmmmmm, ok. I'm guessing that the bitrate data will include the text string 'VBR', and THAT is what you would then filter?
Sneaky!
I'll give it a whirl.

Yes, that's correct, it will include the text VBR. Make sure that the VBR files have correct VBR headers first though (which can be done automatically with the VBR repair tool).
