Hello,

Love the program!  But I need a bit of help here.  I am aware of how to mass remove either the first or last few charaters in a file name using the <TRASH:3> feature in the "auto tag (from filenames)" area.  However, I'm having some difficulty understanding how I can remove the first few characters from a specific tag.

Specifically, I would like to remove the first 3 characters from the album field or comment field for a group of mp3's.

I'm sure there is a way to do this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance!

Sure, simply output this field to a temp-list, with the "Creat custom list" tool (in the "File tools" toolset), and then import it with a template like "<TRASH:3><Album>" with the "Tag/rename from list" tool.

If you then create a macro of it, you'll have it accessible with one single mouseclick from anywhere in the program. If you also add macro parameters to it you can use the same macro for any tag field, and any number of characters to remove, being queried for this info everytime you run the macro!

Thanks Magnus!  I will give that a try.

Keep up the great work.
