I have been searching for years for a good database program which will handle a massive collection.  The problem:

1.  About a terrabyte of files.
2.  Genres of Jazz, Blues, Classic Rock, Classical, Oldies, Pop

I finally found Orange Database Manager which is marginal, but better than anything else I have found so far.

The problem is the information necessary and the sort order.  
Non-classical needs to be sorted (And displayed) by Category, Major Genre, Minor Genre, Artist, Album, Track, Title.  Classical needs to be sorted (and displayed) by Composer, Conductor, Orchestra, Artist, Track, Title.  Oldies need three sort orders, Category - Title - Artist; Category -Artist - Title; and Category - Year - Rank - Artist - Title.

Orange seems to have enough tag fields available for display and sort, but unfortunately they are not the same as in MP3 Tag Studio.  Orange has the following:

Album Kind
Artist
Author
Category
Composer
Conductor
Custom Field 1
Custom Field 2
Custom Field 3
Custom Field 4
Date Added
Engineer
Format
Genre
Label
Orchestra
Performer
Producer
Soloist
Studio
Title
Tour
Year

Although MP3 Tag Studio has by far more tags available some real important ones seem to be missing from your list.  Is it much of a job to add some fields?  The most useful additional fileds would be Custom 1-4, Category, and performer.  With these, Orange can be made to work.  Just for the record, Orange can't be used to write the tags because it operates only on one tag at a time.

By the way, I see you identify the field name by specified field which is great.

If you can't change MP3 Tag Studio does anyone know a program that has these fields?

The tags in mp3 files follow a standard called ID3v2. This standard contains a limited set of fields, and I cannot just arbitrarily use fields in addition to these (there are some features defined in the standard for creation of custom fields though, but these are not supported right now).

My advice would be to use any of the available fields that you don't need, as temporary containers for the information you want to store.

For a full list of all the supported text fields in the ID2v2 standard, go into the browse tool, then select a file with an ID3v2 tag (or add such a tag to any mp3 file), then bring up the "Advanced ID3v2 info" window, and then press the "Add additional frame" button. In the drop down list named "Frame type" you will see all available text type fields. You can store any text you want in any of these. You can then, at a later time, export the contents of any of these fields to a list by using the "Create custom lists" tool, which in turn can be imported into your database.

krdu: What player are you using? While my collection does not take as much space as your own, it is very diverse and I had problems with the lack of organizing features in most players. Now I use J  River Media Center, which has the best DB features, IMO. I use MP3Tag Studio for initial tagging and naming, then import into Media Center and finish organizing. It lets you define custom fields and a whole host of other operations. So you might check that out.
