When I attempt to use the "Auto rename (from tags) mode, I have a problem where I want to rename the files in this output file name format:
<Year>_<TrackNr> - <Artist> - <Title> [<Bitrate> <Ch. mode> <Length>].mp3
Unfortunately, your program automatically truncates the Track Number, so that a track in format "007" changes to "07." I want it to stay as "007" for a specific reason.
Is there a way for me to force the program to accept the track numbers exactly as written? I also have some track numbers that are entered like this:
007a
007alt
007s
and so on, and I want the letters to be retained as well.

There is an option in the global settings regarding how many digits track numbers should be zero-padded to, this should work.
Regarding those other track numbers you mention, they break the ID3v2 specification, and so did the program that let you enter them. I'm afraid Mp3/Tag Studio does not handle tag fields that breaks the specification, sorry.

Ah, I understand. It makes sense, logically, to keep the Track number purely numeric. I guess as it is, we should be grateful that we can do 3 digits (even though the Red Book CD spec limits it to only 99 tracks). iTunes and a few other programs do the exact same thing.
I'll figure out a workaround, probably using another field to store the extra characters, and then combine them in the file renaming process.
