Hi Magnus, I'm back :D

Is it possible to select a directory and it's sub-directories in the "working directory" field?  e.g.
C:/mp3 music/abba
                 /zz top

My music is set up in artist folders (not really an abba fan) but, I don't want to go into each folder to make global changes if possible.
Thanks

For most tools there's an option for this (including sub directories) under the execute button.

I think the benefit being sought here is the ability to click on a directory, and have ALL of the mp3 files in that directory AND its subdirectories appear in the Browse/Edit tags pane as well as the Select Files to Process pane.  That way you're not popping in and out of directories to get to your zillion files, which are stored in different folders.

I think the days of all mp3 files existing in a single directory have passed us by.  With the new lyrics and cover art functionality available in most mp3 players now, you gotta have everything in separate directories.  WMP10 doesn't even let you have that choice any more...when you sync your files with your mp3 player, everything is automatically separated into a folder structure based on the tag information (or file name if the tags are empty).  That's actually kinda handy.  It creates a system file for the cover art in each folder that can now be leveraged by dozens of different mp3 sync managers.  More on that in the appropriate thread.
