-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: mp3ts wont load started by SecretsKept Posted by: SecretsKept on May 03 2004,21:23 for some strange reason twice in a row i've installed the mp3ts3.05 and im assuming its the newest version. Im running windows xp with all the latest updates. The program works flawlessly for about 2 weeks. then when i try to load the main program it just sits there down in the taskbar not responding. i can right click and close it but it comes up with not - responding. the shell extensions still work fine by the way. currently the only sollution is to reinstall and i hate doing that. Posted by: Magnus Brading on May 04 2004,00:46 That sounds very strange. If it happens again, please try to delete/rename the file "mp3ts.dat" (i.e. the main settings file) in the Mp3/Tag Studio install dir, and see if that makes it any better. Also, I assume you're not using any beta/RC of the Windows XP SP2? There is a compatibility issue with that one, which will be resolved in the next release. It shouldn't really result in this behavior though. Posted by: SecretsKept on May 04 2004,20:59 Not running any betas on this machine. i just did a fresh install of mp3ts so when it happens again ill try your solution. Till then i will wait with fingers crossed, and knock on wood. Posted by: Pete Morrison on May 15 2004,15:28 FYI - Just had the same prob as 1st post under w2k latest updates, service packs, etc. After not using it for ~ 6-9 mo, It behaved exactly as described. I removed the dat file & it now appears to be working. Possibly some intervening update or odd internal file association with .dat ![]() Posted by: daPanic on June 06 2004,14:08 ---------------------QUOTE BEGIN------------------- That sounds very strange. Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 06 2004,17:36 The problem is that the Windows XP SP2 compatibility issue is not in my own code, but in an external protection wrapper software I use. Please see < this thread > for more info about this anyway. Posted by: daPanic on June 06 2004,18:07 Thank you! After your Post i read all stuff here and now i deinstalled SP2! ![]() end |
