The font used in the directory tree and the filenames in "Browse" seems to be missing certain characters which legal in file and directory names.

In particular š and Š show as thick vertical bars.  In the text field both characters are displayed correctly, and when the filenames containing them are used to set tags they are also handled correctly.

How can I change the font used for file and directory names, as opposed to text field names?

Filenames in Windows support unicode characters, which is sadly not supported in Mp3/Tag Studio at the moment.  :ashamed:

I'm confused (not an unusual state of mind).

I have two character-map utilities, the one that comes with WinXP, and something called Character Map Pro, a free-bee.

The characters in question shows up in Character Map Pro, as "Key + 0138" for the upper case, and "Key + 054" for the lower (This is in both Arial and Times New Roman.)  However, in the WinXP Character-map things get weird.  For Arial it displays several hundred characters  (possiblly over 1000, but I haven't counted them), rather than the 254 displayed in CMP.  It seems to have defaulted to UNICODE.  But the two I want aren't in the base 254, in fact I can't figure out the order.

However, the two in question are clearly NOT UNICODE, as they display correctly in EditPad, a simple text editor which doesn't "know from" UNICODE.

So, why should a character display in one non-UNICODE application, but not in another, even using the same font?

So, w

Sounds strange indeed, but sadly I don't have any explanation for it.

The tree and list controls in Mp3/Tag Studio are sadly controls whose font settings are out of my control, but as far as I know they should handle standard ASCII characters. Sorry to not be able to help more with this issue at the moment.
