-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Mp3/Tag Studio 3.5 (beta 12) released! started by Magnus Brading Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 17 2005,22:01 Beta 12 was just released, here's what's added/fixed: * Added a context menu option for all status/warning/error boxes, enabling the user to save the contents to a chosen text file on disk. * Fixed a bug that would under some conditions cause Mp3/Tag Studio to slow down or even crash with an error message ("Thread creation error...") when auto-renaming mp3 files. This bug was introduced in beta 10. * Fixed the problems with manual refreshes of the Explorer dirtree. * Fixed a bug that would under certain conditions cause the program to fail including certain mp3 info when creating custom lists. * Fixed a bug that would under certain conditions attempt to extract mp3 encoding info from non-mp3 files when creating custom lists. * Fixed a bug that caused the mass set tool not to display the changes in some ID3v2 fields in preview mode. * Fixed a bug that under certain conditions caused ID3v2 comment frames with non-standard content descriptors to be removed when tagging files. * Fixed a problem that caused the program not to switch working directory when the directory was selected from the Explorer dirtree by using the keyboard instead of the mouse. * Fixed a bug that would cause the filter not to work properly if only filtering based on mp3 stereo mode was used. Enjoy! Posted by: alkimiya on July 18 2005,00:08 I have to say, thanks for fixing the explorer refresh bug. Something that's bugging me though is that when I press refresh it takes a while for it to go through all the (visible?) nodes. They are each shown in the "working directory" text field as it is progressing. Anyway, some versions ago the explorer pane updated itself when new directories where added (I know deletions could cause crashes, but it locks the directories now right?).. so why is this no longer the case, it was quite useful not needing to refresh for each time (I work in a nonprocessed dir structure and a sorted/processed one, where new dirs are added as I process new files). Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 18 2005,11:23 Thanks for the report, I didn't notice that problem (the one about going through all the directories on refresh). I will fix it in the next release. About the auto update feature, it was the root of the old thread creation error, so I had to remove it for now. I might add it again in a better form in a future version though. Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 19 2005,12:51 Ok, I just released a new beta where the refresh problem is fixed, and the auto update feature is re-added. Posted by: alkimiya on July 19 2005,17:08 Thanks for the quick updates ![]() I have some problems with the autoupdate though.. I am working in an artists subdir-tree and mp3/tag studio is in one of the album directories.. I then add a new directory to the artist, it does not refresh.. if I select the artist directory (parent to the albums) and add the new, it refreshes correctly. If I forget to change to the artist dir before refreshing I off course have to do it manually, pressing F5. This causes some strange behaviour though. First it refreshes, which will take a while, I understand this is not strange, however it opens and closes the artist directory in the list a couple of times (stops at closed, which is annoying since I want to access a subdir). A couple of times the application has hanged a couple of seconds after this refresh as well. Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 19 2005,18:04 Yes, there might be some imperfections in the auto update feature, but since these are located in third party code that is not mine (i.e. it's built into the Explorer tree component) I will leave it as it is for the moment. It works in most cases and is better than nothing at least, and you can always manually refresh just like before. end |
