PAJean Unregistered Posted: Oct. 03 2005,18:43 I been testing Mp3/Tag Studio for about few days and maybe I don't at the right place but I can not find out How/Where to go to insert a Picture/Covers or scans into my tags? I have looked in the help file, on the site and couldn't find any information on this. Except that in the advance view I can see RAW data and there you can select a type of info. I can that a picture is present, because I check it, but I don't know how to do-it to enter one. Please help PAJean Back to top

"Not done in mass tagging operations"? Really? I'd have thought tagging album art to the 12 or so files which constitute an album would have been "mass tagging". I guess the picture info still needs quite a different interface than all the other types of information that are text based, and hence it is a rather unpleasant special case in general, requiring lots of dedicated code and GUI space just for itself. In the older days, picture tagging was not very useful either, but nowadays with players that display images it's becoming moreso, or well, at least more popular. noddy Board Veteran Group: Members Posts: 97 Joined: Feb. 2004 Posted: Oct. 05 2005,07:07 Magnus, I don't know if it's of any interest to you, but I have a friend who is the head software development dude for a multinational company, and he wrote an app for me in Java. As you know, I'm into the podcasting thing in a big way, and what this app does is: I point it to the MP3 file. Based on the filename, it calculates the name of the podcast channel and the episode number. I fill in the description field and the keywords field, and press "process". The app then does 3 things: 1. It generates the new code for the XML file 2. It generates the HTML for the website 3. It adds the ID3 tags (inlcuding the artwork) to the MP3 file. I then press "publish" and it connects to my ftp account and uploads the MP3, the XML and the HTML. Now, I realise that my friend wrote this in Java, and you're probably working in C++ or something like that (don't ask me, I know nothing about programming!, but would it be of any value for me to put you in touch with him? He implemented the artwork into the script in no time at all. Please don't think I'm suggesting that you don't know how to do it, as I'm sure you're more than capable! Hell, MP3TS is one of the best designed apps I've ever seen. But if you'd like to chat with him, I could probably hook you guys up. I've must admit i have been using mp3/tag studio for a while longer than i should have whitout paying, sorry about that. Really a nice program! Did a search on the forum for podcast and this tread came up. in iTunes (which i hate with a passion) you can set an option to automatically save playback position on your mp3's when you stop your player (iTunes or iPod) It works great for podcasts and audiobooks. If you find this out (e.g. by saving two different such "timestamps" in two copies of the same file and then compare their tags, especially the additional frames in the "Advanced ID3v2 info" dialog of the browse tool), I can then give you a definitive answer to your question. -------------- Software author and website owner Back to top
