It dont change to uppercase on convertion or goin crazy with that letter. Try to fix it ![]() Posted by: Magnus Brading on May 24 2004,15:05 If we are are talking about non-unicode 8-bit characters, I could fix it if you give me a complete translation table between all your uppercase/lowercase letters. Unicode characters are not supported though. Posted by: Ivan on May 25 2004,15:41 The big problem is when converting letter "ž" = "-" on CTRL-A Vice CTRL-T is ok. Only on CTRL-A make problems. try to fix it .) Posted by: Magnus Brading on May 25 2004,16:22 Could you give me the ASCII code of that letter on your computer please? (or send me a small file having that letter in its name, where all other letters in the filename are normal english ones) These special characters can often get their codes translated when only writing them out like this in the forum, and I want to make sure I'm fixing the right one. Anyway, is that the _only_ letter at all that you are having problems with? Otherwise, please tell me the others too. Posted by: Ivan on May 26 2004,15:24 I think that the only letter who makes problems so in past is more. ALT+166 is uppercase (Ž) ALT+167 is lower case letter (ž) I think that can help you or not? Posted by: Magnus Brading on May 26 2004,16:17 Ok, thanks, I have fixed it now, it will work in beta 4 (which will be released tonight or tomorrow). Please let me know if you find any other characters that there is a problem with, and I will fix them too. Posted by: Ivan on May 26 2004,21:28 Oky, Tnx a lot. Ill test it & look if any other letter makes problems. Posted by: Ivan on May 27 2004,16:55 Oh, i detected a big problems with Central European fonts. I got Y - Y.mp3 & when i manualy rename in Browse/Edit tags... in y - y.mp3 i got msg File with that name already exist & if i click yes it delete file without recycle bin. That happen on all 5 CE fonts. ![]() Y = central european font ------------------------------------------------ You dont fixed problem in my last post (ALT+166 is uppercase (Ž) ALT+167 is lower case letter (ž)) Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 01 2004,13:33 This might indicate that your special characters are after all not normal 1-byte characters, but indeed Unicode, which is not supported at the moment. As a last verification, please send me a bunch of very small example files for each of these problematic letters, in a zip file (like Y.txt, y.txt, where Y is the big version of the problematic letter and y is the small version of it), so I can experiment with them myself. Please try to extract the files from the zip archive first before sending it to me, because Winzip also has problems handling Unicode characters in filenames). Posted by: Ivan on June 01 2004,16:20 < http://members.lycos.co.uk/webnew/CE/ > you got in that folder small & big font of the word Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 01 2004,16:42 The problem with putting it on the web like that is that non-ASCII letters will be decoded/reencoded many times between your harddisk and my web browser, and do not have to be the same at all when they finally arrive at me. The letters inside the file seem to be ok though, but the original filenames cannot be saved to my disk, which indicates that there is non-ASCII letters involved anyway. Sending the files in a zip file to me would make better proof though (you can upload this zip file to that same webspace, that it completely ok, as long as all the sample files are inside the zip file). Posted by: Ivan on June 02 2004,16:23 < http://members.lycos.co.uk/webnew/CE/ > you got zip here Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 02 2004,16:55 I get the following message when trying to access that URL in my browser: ---------------------------------- Forbidden You don't have permission to access /webnew/CE/ on this server. ---------------------------------- Posted by: Ivan on June 03 2004,21:37 Maybe lycos server busy at this moment, retry .) here works Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 04 2004,00:20 Ok, I've made a fix now that works on your sample files, it will will be available in the next beta. It was just as I though, the encoding of the characters had changed them when you sent them over the web forum the first time. Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 06 2004,02:54 Ok, beta 5 is released, please try it and see if it works fine now. Posted by: Ivan on June 06 2004,14:03 In beta 5 CE fonts dont work ![]() Fix is not released there or not fixed ? Posted by: Magnus Brading on June 06 2004,17:31 Yes, the new fix was in beta 5. If it doesn't work now, the problem must be unicode related. It works perfectly on the sample files you sent me anyway, sorry. ![]() end |
