Hi. I'm new to tagging MP3s, and as such, have never used this program before - or any other MP3 tagging software.

I have a bunch of MP3s which, when on my MP3 player, seem to have no tags whatsoever - they appear under Unknown Artist, Unknown Album and with the name "[track number] [song name].mp3". Some songs from another artist also appear in this category, not with their artist, so I assume they're also untagged.

I just want to set the tags, but MP3TS is just way too complicated for me to use. Could someone perhaps explain to me what I need to do in order to set the tags for these?

Please give an example of an actual filename from this mp3 file collection of yours.

Ok, simply use the following template in the "Auto tag" tool then, to import this information available in the filename to the tag:

<TrackNr> <Title>.mp3

Strange. Are there perhaps two spaces after the track number in those file names, or are perhaps the "zeroes" really the letter "O"?

Nope, just checked. They're zeroes, and only one space. Odd. What I might do is get my dad to just tag them for me, he's the one who mentioned this program to me in the first place.

Ok, great, let's see if he finds something in your settings that I haven't been able to see from here.
