I sure do get a lot of use from Tag Studio!
My appreciation for the program naturally motivates me to want to contribute suggestions to help streamline my experience of the functions.
One thing that would seem a huge help would be to separate the option to display warnings from the one to display errors. Most (if not all) of the time the errors are not necessary, at least for me (about files that had no tag, for example, and therefore won't be changed), but the warnings category seems to be very important (if a partial tag is missing, for example, a file will be renamed with only a partial name).Being able to suppress errors would really speed things up, since warnings are a high priority (they change files in unexpected ways while errors make no change). I realize that one could filter for "full tags only" (which would trigger another dialog with files that don't pass) but the filter slows things down by an order of magnitude.
I'd like to suggest amending "Replace spaces with []" and "Replace [] with space" (in the tag/rename views) to permit a character to be entered in the hard-coded portion of the statement as well (space and underscore). I always want to replace underscores, for example, whether in the rename functions or the tag functions. 
Finally, I'd like to plead for an "undo" capability in the ShellEx (Explorer context menu). The undo files are created but they're not acknowledged, even if you then load the full program because of unexpected results.

I have noted it for consideration in a future version.

You can replace anything you like by using the options inside the "Case fix and replace" utility, these explicit options you mention are just shortcuts for the most common cases of replacement.
3.
Yes, the undo functionality for the shell extension is actually the only planned real feature that is not fully complete in the 3.5 beta versions, so please stay tuned.

Is it fully implemented? I've seen it appear on the menu, but sometimes I go back and it's dimmed. Does it "expire" or last indefinitely (until temp files are cleared, anyway)?
Also, I found that <TrackNr> seems to be omitted from the Extended tool settings: Create lists section. Could this possibly be added? That's definitely a field you want to sort by.

And please clarify the TrackNr issue, I can see it in the list sorting dropdowns, if that's what you mean?

Sorry, I forgot to include some details on TrackNr in the Settings dialog: I was really intending to ask about the addition of a fourth "sort" column for occasions when either <Title> or <TrackNr> are not available for all songs in an album (for example, bonus tracks are sometimes not numbered). This would permit sorting by artist, album, trackNr, and for non-numbered songs they'd then be sorted at the end (or beginning) by title.
Similarly, if <Album> is missing, they could still be sorted by the remaining criteria, and so on.

Dunno where else to post this, but I've been happily discovering some new context menu options in the browse/rename section -- auto rename, case fix and so on. When were these added? Very cool!

Hehe, I'm glad you like it.
Check the change log to see exactly where it was added, but I think it was a few versions ago (before the 3.5 betas, if I'm not mistaken).

Amazing! Shows how selective one's memory can be. I guess the first times I saw it there were just too many possibilities to remember 'em all. (It just shows how much I'm using it these days.)

Could you possibly make it optional to set illegal track number formats to zero? I'd rather have the field empty if it doesn't match a pattern.

Can you possibly think about adding the function to create playlist? I have seen other MP3 tag program that also can generate MP3 playlist? Thanks for considerering this as an enhancement in future release.

I do see there is an option to create a winamp style playlist. Can you expand that to include WMP playlist? Also, the relative path option would be more useful if it is from where the playlist is stored instead of simply a list of mp3 files names with no path to the file. For example, my file is on w:\my music\artist\alnum\title.mp3. The playlist created using relative path just has the title.mp3. If you are going to add the options suggested, can you also include the option to use / instead of \ in the path? Thanks.

Don't forget, most music players now can make playlists, and there are lots of free playlist makers on file sites.

Thanks for those tips Llamatron.
And Tony, just as Llamatron says, there are programs that are made just to create playlists of different kinds and with many different options. Although some of the suggestions regarding playlists in this thread are good, and might very well be included in a future version of Mp3/Tag Studio, it would be quite hard (not to mention very messy to Mp3/Tag Studio and its interface) to include all options that any of those specific advanced playlist makers have. I will consider some of these ideas though, thanks for your input.
