-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Suggestions +---Topic: Remove string from filename started by IvanoV Posted by: IvanoV on Nov. 27 2003,13:17 Very useful function is absent - "remove constant string from filename". Do you plan to add OGG support? P.S. Sorry for my english!!! Posted by: Magnus Brading on Nov. 27 2003,13:41 More exactly what would this "remove constant string from filename" feature accomplish? It feels to me that it is quite likely that the current substring replace utility could do it... Also, about ogg support, see e.g. < this thread >. Posted by: IvanoV on Nov. 27 2003,15:21 Yeah, you have right. Substring replace utility can do it. I have read thread about ogg and other formats. Maybe we (Proud Users of MP3 Tag Studio) will vote which format support you should add first Posted by: Magnus Brading on Nov. 27 2003,18:05 What do you think about the comments at the bottom of that thread? Does ogg files really only use normal ID3 tags or not? In that case Mp3/Tag Studio already supports them anyway. Posted by: deauxver on Jan. 19 2004,19:02 The subject is "Filter by Modify Date or include Modify Date in list outputs" I can't figure out (in my haste) to create an entirely new post, so I am replying to this mail instead. I'd love to be able to create a custom list that would included each file's "modified date", along with all the tag and path info. In addition, it would also be nice to have a filter setting that could discriminate on the basis of file date. This would be helpful when I periodically synchronize two databases (one I listen to everyday at work, and the other I keep as a backup at home). I recently discovered the use of the "tag from list" feature which will eliminate me having to transfer the entire file (for each song) from one database to the other whenever I update the tags, but if I have no way to filter out the "older" non-updated files, I could be rewriting the tags on ALL the files even if the updated files only include a small number of the whole database. If only - well, does TagStudio skip updating any file for which the list data would not change anything, or will it still take time to rewrite them? It would still be nice to not have to run through the entire list (of 9000+ tracks, in my case) to update what might only be 100 or less files every week or so. In the end, the ability to either filter by Modify Date or include Modify Date in list outputs would be great. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Jan. 19 2004,23:55 I will consider these suggestions, thanks. end |
