-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Error reported by "mp3 utility" -- can't isolate started by calberga Posted by: calberga on Nov. 16 2005,16:08 I've been using a program called "mp3 utility", from: < http://www.geocities.com/mp3utility/ > which does a good job of finding sync errors, etc. However, on one batch of files it is reporting "Can't locate second frame header for VBRI files". M/T S doesn't find anything wrong, and CoolEdit will load the file with no problems, and they play. I've saved all the tags (using the "make list" function), cleared them all and retagged, but the error still is reported. I have reported this problem to the program's author, and will report back if he comes up with an explanation. But I would appreciate your opinion. Cyril N. Alberga PS Is there any way to add a spell-checker to this page? Having to copy the text into WordPerfect and then (if errors are found -- none, this time! ![]() CNA Posted by: Magnus Brading on Nov. 16 2005,17:20 My initial guess would be that the files might have VBR headers which in turn have invalid mp3 frame headers, otherwise I'm not sure what it might be. And I'm afraid you'll have to do without an auto spell checker here in the forum for the moment, but you never know, maybe later. ![]() Posted by: calberga on Nov. 18 2005,12:29 Well, I still don't know exactly what the problem is, but I found a program, Ashampoo mp3 Audio Center, which seems to fix it. Posted by: Llamatron on Nov. 25 2005,23:17 Another good program for checking & adjusting (and even some repairs on) MP3 files is < MPTrim >. The free one will do most files, and the registered one(s) will do batches and very big files. end |
