My MP3 library is organized in folder 0-9, and A-Z, with the artist on under each folder, and then albums under artist, etc.

MP3 Tag Studio is great, but the one thing I can't figure out is how to get it to move files into

\mp3\A\Artist\Album\Song

instead of

\mp3\Artist\Album\Song

Any thoughts?

BV.

Sure, you can use the "Direct rename files" tool for this. If you show me the current format of your directory structure I can give you an example of a template that should do what you want.

For some reason, my reply did not come thru, I'll try again.

All of my MP3's are stored in a folder called c:\mp3\library. Under library I have folders: A, B, C, etc. Under those folders I have folder for the artist, and then for each album.

For example

C:\MP3\library\A\Aerosmith
C:\MP3\library\B\Bon Jovi
Etc.

When I put new MP3's into the library, I dump them on my drive, use MP3 Tag Studio to clean them up, and the rename them. Currently I can only get them into the following format:

c:\mp3<\>library<\><Artist><\>Album<\><TrackNr> - <Artist> - <Title>.mp3

And I want to have the <Artist> folders under an alphabetic folder, IE A for Aerosmith. I like the Mass set tags, Mass set filename. So I'd like a Mass operation to do this as well.

Sure, it will just take a little special trick, but if you create a macro for it, it will be just as easy anyway.

You just need to organize the files into the structure you mention first (i.e. with the Rename from tags tool):

C:\SomeTempDir<\><Artist><\><Album><\><TrackNr> - <Artist> - <Title>.mp3

After this, simply use the Direct Rename tool with the following templates, and it will be done:

Input:
<Artist><\><Custom1:1><Custom2><\><Custom3>.mp3

Output:
c:\mp3<\>library<\><Custom1><\><Custom1><Custom2><\><Album><\><Custom3>.mp3

Bam, done, and when you create a macro of it, the entire operation will be done with the single click of a button. Neeto, huh? ;)
