whenever i use mp3Tag studio to edit a tag, it changes single digit track numbers from the format X to format 0X (for instance replacing 9 with 09) in the ID3v2 tag. personally, i find that a bit annoying.

mp3Tag studio has quite a useful substring replacement feature, which ought to be just the thing for reverting back to the original format. unfortunately, substring replacement cannot be applied to the track numbers.

2 suggestions:
- leave the track format unchanged.
- extend the substring replacement feature to cover track numbers.

thanks

Simply use the following setting:

Settings (in file menu) ---> General tagging and renaming ---> Zero-pad track numbers to length

and set the number to 0 or 1.

If you want to remove the tracknumber padding from a bunch of files, simply first apply the setting above in Mp3/TS, and then use the "Direct Tag Manipulation" tool with a simple "<TrackNr> ---> <TrackNr>" template.

The reason that I cannot apply the substring replace tool to tracknumbers is that there are strict limitations on the valid format of tracknumbers in the ID3v2 specification.
