This is usually an operating system problem that might appear when the so called "user resources" are low in Windows. If you reboot and try it without opening any other programs, does it still happen?

That sounds strange, what exactly do you mean with "loose all my previous settings"? I will look into it.

If you are going to process many files, especially on a slow media (like e.g. a network connection or a DVD), the initialization of the progress meter statistics may take a while. This is unavoidable, and that's why I made the progress meters an option. You can disable them from the "Program interface" page of the main settings. The crashes sound more strange though, exactly what error message do you get?
Is there anyone else reading this having experienced any crashes in connection to progress meter statistics initialization? Please tell me in that case.
