Hi,
maybe I'm just too stupid...
I wanted to mp3ts to leave special words CAPITALIZED when I use continuous Casefix.
When I enter the Word "OST" it's always changed into Ost.
I tried with the casefix settings, but without success.

I could not figure out how to do this within the regular case fix options either.
You could try using the Substring Replacements feature that's in the Case Fix Settings window. Example:
Make sure 'Use substring replacements' is checked
Uncheck 'Case sensitive'
In the 'Replace' box, type 'ost'
In the 'With' box, type 'OST'
Select 'Apply after casefix'
Click 'Add'
If this works for you, you may want to save these settings as a preset. Update: I just tried the above, using 'DJ' as my desired uppercase string, and it worked. Please let us all know how it goes for you.

thanks for the suggestion, but it has one major disadvantage:
it also processes within words that contain "ost" or "dj" ! When I write "Prost" I get "PrOST". That's not exactly what I wanted...
Maybe Magnus has to add a "leave Capitalized" List !?

It certainly would be easier if there were an "Always Capitalize" list. With regard to the substring replacement method, you are right - it is neither elegant nor flexible
Hopefully Magnus will offer his thoughts on this soon.

What I have planned is to add a feature to the substring replacements, so you can choose "match whole words only" on each replacement entry. This will solve this problem, and many other potential problems at the same time. Generic and simple, just the way I like it.

The "match whole words only" idea sounds good! One question, though: will that filtering function only look for SPACES before and after the word, or will it pick up on other characters? I was primarily thinking about PARENTHESES. Someone might want to write, for example, "Titanic (OST)" (I know *I* do). So, would "(OST)" work? That is, if one entered "ost" as the word one wanted capitalized, would it work if the text string was "Titanic (ost)" or "Titanic [Australian ost]", or would one have to enter all the different spelling combinations with parentheses, spaces, commas etc that might surround the word one wants to make capitalized?

It will support all word separators, possibly even configurable, don't worry about it.

This feature would still be very, very useful. Lack of it is the only thing that has kept me from case fixing my entire collection. Not sure if you have it planned for this release cycle, but I thought I would put in my vote for it!

I'll jump back in and second tailwaggers request. My need for this is relatively simple, but frequent - I listen to a lot of trance/techno/goa/DnB/etc, so the instances of MC and DJ alone would make this valuable
As to the whole word feature, it would be nice to be able to define the delimiters of words. As Callel points out, there are a number of instances where a word will not be delimited by a space on both sides. Come to think of it, I could use this too... I seem to have quite a few instances of "Song Title (DJ Whatever Remix)".

The "word delimiters" functionality is already accomplished with the "Recognized prefixes" and "Ignored word suffixes" lists.
I'll try to squeeze in the "Always capitalize" list and "Match whole words" feature in 3.5, stay tuned...

One small issue. I am curious how you expect the "only whole word" feature to work in the case of a phrase. Let's say I have a substring replacement rule like this:
replace "D Major" with "D major" case insensitive
In this case I want "Concerto in D Major" to become "Concerto in d major", but I don't want "Minority and Majority" to become "Minority anD majority". I was thinking that specifying "only whole word" on the rule would take care of this by ensuring that the replacement is only done if there is a word boundary before and after the phrase. What currently happens is that the rule doesn't match in either case.

Currently it only works on single words, not on phrases at all. In your example it would not find and replace "d major" in any of your examples if you have selected the "only whole word" option. After all, it says "only whole word" and not "only whole phrase".
But sure, I can see the use for such a feature too in some cases, e.g. the one you mention, but with the current implementation it would not be elementary to fix it, so you probably won't see it in 3.5, sorry. Damn you people, never satisfied... As a relatively good workaround for your current example, you could add both "D" and "Major" and single words. The only problem with this is that the word "Major" could occur in some other context where you don't want it capitalized I guess (but if you use the normal advanced capitalization rules, it would become the way you want in any case, without any replacements at all).
