I downloaded the software to try it out and I accidently renamed a folder with 1200 MP3s incorrectly.  The MP3s were in the folder organized by artist then title.  I auto renamed (from tags) and it renamed all the MP3s.  It arranged them in folders by artist and then a subfolder by album and then the file.  Except the files were all renamed title and title.  It renamed the actual MP3 to have the artist name be the same text as the title.  

Is there anyway I can rename the MP3s to have the correct artist name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Sorry for my lack of experience using this software.

First of all, there's an undo-button for all operations. If you haven't performed any new operation of the same type since the accidental one, it will work to click it even if you have restarted Mp3/Tag Studio or your computer inbetween.

And according to your description, it sounds like only the file names were set incorrectly, so then it would suffice with just a new auto rename round with a correct template (using the "include subdirs" option to reach all the subfolders where the mp3s are located).

Well, what format do you want the filenames to have? :) Please give an example.

Right now the files are in a folder on my desktop.  Inside they're organized by artist name with each file inside an artist folder (MP3/Tag studio made the folders, I had them all inside one folder before).  Inside the folder is an album folder.  Then the actual file. (C:\Documents and Settings\*******\Desktop\Unorganized Music from PC\AC_DC\Unknown\T.n.t.mp3)

I am trying to get it to say ACDC- T.n.t.mp3

Now when I add this folder to iTunes the mp3s do not have an artist.  All I want is the tag to have an artist name when I load it into iTunes.

Does that help with explanation of my problem?

Well, it's a little strange that you say that the files do not have an artist tag, since you also say that Mp3/Tag Studio created the directories, which in turn contain artist names?

Anyway, first of all, set the Mp3/Tag Studio working dir to the directory where all the files were located to begin with, i.e. the directory that now contains all the subdirectories that you say Mp3/Tag Studio created. For all operations described below, use the "Include subdirs" option.

First, if for some reason the artist tag has disappeared from the files, you can to re-extract it into the files with the following template in the auto tag tool:

<Artist><\><TRASH><\><TRASH>.mp3


Second, to rename the files to the format "<Artist> - <Title>.mp3", simply use this template in the auto rename tool:

"<Artist> - <Title>.mp3"


Done!

If any of these operations would turn out in a way you don't like, simply press the undo button to restore the files to the state before the operation.
