I am runnng 32 bit Vista and i've just installed v3.5.

Each time I launch the program the warning message "Inconsistency in registry entries detected" pops up several times if I click through it the program starts.

I've tried tagging a couple of files at that seems fine, but I cant save to the list of default file name formats, which is a real pain cos I use that all the time.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

This happens when the program has not been installed properly in the currently used user account. Please run the installer to repair/re-install it, and it should work fine again.

Thanks for this, but i did install this using the same account that I am trying to run it under (I only have one account setup! ).

I have uninstalled and reinstalled it with no luck.  In fact the first time I ran the program it kept starting instances of mp3tag_s.exe until there was no more free memory !!!!!

If it helps i've attached a screen print of what MS Process Monitor shows between clicking through of the messages.

Very strange, indeed, nothing like this has ever been reported before.

Do you have access to any other computer? Have you tried to install it there?

If you have access to any other computer where it runs successfully, please try to export the entire "HKCU\Software\Magnus Brading Software\Mp3 Tag Studio" registry key into a file (with Regedit), and then import it into your problematic computer, and see if it works any better then.

Also, try to turn the shell extension on and off from the global settings inside Mp3/Tag Studio.

I guess it could be some strange permission problem in the registry on your machine, but all applications should normally have full access to that registry key.

Turning the shell extentions off, restarting MP3 tag Studio and putting them back on again sorted the problem.

Thanks for your time.
