Topic: Zero-pad track # option affects tags and renaming, I want one, but not the other< Next Oldest | Next Newest >

I like track numbers in my filenames to be zero-padded (i.e., 01) so that they sort properly. However, I don't want my ID3v2 "Track" tags zero-padded. I can't find any way to do this with Mp3/TS 3.0.

In other words, if I have Mp3/TS rename files, I want it to zero-pad any track numbers to 2 characters ('1' becomes '01'). But if I copy ID3v1 tags to v2 Tags, I don't want the ID3v2 Track tag to be zero-padded.

Am I missing an option or setting or something? I don't recall this being an issue in Mp3/TS 2.18, but I could be remembering wrong.

In earlier versions it was default to pad track numbers in filenames to length 2, but nothing else. Some people complained about this, so I made it an option with customizeable padding length. This option affects both renaming and tagging though.

I will consider making it separate options for tagging and renaming in a future update.

Until then you can disable the pad option when doing tagging (but I do understand that this is not very desireable).

Thanks.
