+---Topic: yet another renaming issue started by lazarus

Okay, now this is a weird naming structure.  No idea what this guy was thinking.  No tags on the .mp3s, and the file name is in the following format:

{Windham Hill (Summer Solstice Sundance (09)}{Jay Beckenstein}- Summertime

This would be
Album:  Summer Solstice Sundance
Track No:  09
Artist:  Jay Beckenstein
Title:  Summertime

I just want to get a tag written, and I can't figure out a way to do it.

There's an even worse set that adds a subtitle to the album:

{Windham Hill (A Celtic Christmas (Peace on Earth (01)}{Nightnoise}- The Flight into Egypt

And the "Windham Hill" part I can lose, no problem.  The issue I think is that I'm losing track of the brackets and parentheses.

Thanks!

No problem at all. :)

For the first format:

---------------------QUOTE-------------------
{Windham Hill (Summer Solstice Sundance (09)}{Jay Beckenstein}- Summertime
---------------------QUOTE-------------------

Use this (advanced mode) template:

<TRASH>(<Album> (<TrackNr>)}{<Artist>}- <Title>.mp3

For the second format (I'm assuming "Peace on Earth" is the album subtitle):

---------------------QUOTE-------------------
{Windham Hill (A Celtic Christmas (Peace on Earth (01)}{Nightnoise}- The Flight into Egypt
---------------------QUOTE-------------------

Use this (advanced mode) template:

<TRASH>(<Album-1[| - ]> (<Album-2[|]> (<TrackNr>)}{<Artist>}- <Title>.mp3

You might want to take a look in the helpfile if anything of what I just did isn't crystal clear. ;)

Wow.  Magnus, you are the smart!   :)   I can't tell you how long I mucked about trying to get all that straight.

One other weird thing.  Any idea why it's starting to see and try to write tags for .jpeg files?

If you leave out the ".mp3" from the template, it will tag any file. It's to make it as generic as possible. If you are talking about the browse tool, you can enable/disable displaying of all filetypes by checking the "Show all filetypes" checkbox.
