As the title implies; i can not get the MP3TS 3.5 BETA 20 shell context menu entry to appear in Windows XP Professional (64-bit)..... ideas?

Every 6 months or so I check this forum to see the status of this item - It's one of the last two things keeping me from moving to 64 bit vista permanently.
I'm already a registered user but I've convinced my dog, Bailey, to sign up too if that feature ever shows up.:)
Just let me know.

Hehe.
I'm very sorry, but Delphi, the programming environment used to create Mp3/Tag Studio, doesn't even have a 64 bit version yet, so I'm afraid it won't happen very soon anyway.

I've moved from WinXP (x64) to Win7 (x64) and am just stopping back by to see if there's been any progress....
I suppose i'll just have to run MP3TS inside a WinXP VM with mapped drives for now...

I really liked the idea of getting to the MP3tagstudio explorer shell in Windows 7 64bit using Free Commander but I can't seem to get it to work.
Using Free Commander if I right click an MP3 file the MP3tagstudio shell entry shows up (!
but if I try to us it to change filename or tags, an error message pops up "unable to open ...shlext.und." (see attached). That file is not in the MP3tagstudio directory. I copied it over from a 32 bit install but still no luck - no error message now but shell still does not open.I Tried opening Free Commander "run as Admin" but then when I right click the mp3 file, the MP3tagstudio shell entry isn't there!
Any thoughts?

When I right-click on an MP3 file, and then select the "MP3/Tag Studio" item from the popup menu to produce the application program flyout (shell extension), I then select "edit this file in MP3/Tag Studio" item. The normal program window then opens and I can do anything I would be able to do if launching the program in the standard way.
I have not tried any other of the specific (and instant) functions on that program flyout (shell extension), because that's really not what I wanted to accomplish.
Incidentally, I could not find "shlext.und" anywhere, so that might be some kind of corrupted name.
I have Win7 Pro x64.

Thanks dsperber. I try the same thing (from Free Commander) and get...
Error opening undo file (...Mp3-Tag Studio 3.5\shlext.und)!
When I click OK on the error message, the Mp3Tag Studio window opens as it should.
If I try to Rename or Retag from the shell menu (that's what I use it for) I get the same error message and even after I click OK on the error message, no Mp3Tag Studio window rename or retag menu shows up.
Perhaps Magnus has some ideas?
Using Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit
fyi - I see the shlext.und file exists in my old 32 bit XP installation, but as you say, it is not in the new W7 64 bit installation.

I tried that "TakeOwnership" Hack, but this is not working.
I use W7x64
I'm loged in as admin!
Maybe this works for W7x32, but not with mine...
:-(
Is there any other solution?

Here's how to make takeownership work to restore Mp3TS context menu entry (I added what follows to a readme.txt to takeownership.zip for my future reference):

Under Windows 7 64bit you'll need to add the TakeOwnership
to the registry, then right click on the folder where Mp3TS
is installed and run "Take Ownership" from the context menu.
Run Mp3TS and from File/Settings Shell Extension uncheck
the Activate Mp3/Tag Studio and click OK. Go back to
File/Settings and now CHECK it and click OK. The Mp3TS
context will now work but ONLY from a 32 bit shell like
EF Commander. It won't work from Windows Explorer itself.

The other thing I wanted to add is that I've noticed since
moving to Windows 7 64-bit is that there are very few 32 bit
apps that display their context menu in both Windows Explorer
(64bit) and < EF Commander > (or any other 32bit shell), like
TortoiseCVS. Others like 7-Zip or TortoiseSVN (both 32 bit)
will only appear inside a 32 bit shell. Conversely, TortoiseSVN
64 bits will only show up on Windows Explorer but not on a
32bit shell!
The few 32bit apps I've seen display their context menu in both
32bit and 64bit shells are AVG, TortoiseCVS and your competition,
MP3Tag (which isn't even close in functionality and ease of use).
Haven't figured out why's that or how to make a 32 bit app show
up in the context menu of a 64bit OS.

I have monitored this thread for awhile now - being a devoted Mp3/Tag user for years - and am Desperately Seeking Context Menu!
Kaddath - thanks for your suggestion but it doesn't work for me.
I have followed your takeownership instructions to the letter, and installed EF Commander ('32 bit/64 bit' version) as a user in the Administrators group.
As an Administrator, I can use EF Commander to right click on an mp3 file and 'Open with...> Mp3/Tag', but I still can't see the Mp3/Tag context menu in ER Commander (or in Free Commander, or other 32-bit file managers I've tried).
In any case, this only works as a member of Administrators group, but I rarely use the Administrator group, for security reasons: I run as a less-priveleged user, 'greg'.
I have installed EF Commander and Mp3/Tag both as an Administrator and as 'greg' (non-Administrator user). As 'greg' I can edit mp3 files if I launch Mp3/Tag but when I right click on an mp3 file from inside EF Commander and select Open with > Mp3/Tag I get an error message:

The problem above is due to a bad registry entry.
Here is how to get rid of the error message and open a file in mp3tag.exe:
Use regedit.exe to add the missing (required) command line switch (-sxd).
