I'm trying to write my ID3v2 tag data to the ID3v1 tags and I sometimes get the msg 'Error matching string value to ID3v1 genre in file ...'. Some of the genres that got the error were Blues - Rock, Prog - Rock. The only pattern I can see is that these genres aren't in the genre dropdown box that appears on the Browse/Edit tags & flags screen. Is there a way to avoid this error and is there a way to modify the contents of that dropdown box to just have the genres that I would be using?

This error is because ID3v1 tags can only contain genres from a specific list of predetermined genres (they are stored as numeric indexes from this list, not as strings). There is no way to store other genres than the ones in this standard list in ID3v1 tags, it is a limitation in the ID3v1 standard.
