I down loaded what I thought was a 30 day free trial on 12/25/2002 and when I ran it on 12/26/2002 I received a message that my 30 day trial had expired??

This might happen in a few situations, e.g.:

* The program is run from different user accounts on the same computer, without installing it separately on all these accounts.

* The computer clock has been set back since the last execution.

* Your computer hardware configuration has been altered (e.g. a new graphics card has been installed).

* Certain data in the Windows registry has been damaged/removed, e.g. by some "registry cleaning" tool.

I'm very sorry about this, but making it safer from cracking causes it to be a little too paranoid in some situations. :(

Magnus,

I installed it and immediately launched the program and it told me the same thing: that the 30 days was up. I have only one user account and could obviosly not have changed anything (hardware or registry) without turning the machine off. How can I evaluate the software without running it first?

And you have never installed an earlier version of it on this computer either?

Very strange, I cannot imagine what might cause this, and I'm very sorry. :( If all else fails, please try version 2.91, which does not have a similar trial period.

Correct. And, before the dialog box about the trial period popping up, it says something about not being able to find datafile and using defaults. Does that shed any light on the matter?

Ah... Yes, if the datafile is not there, it means that there is something wrong with the installation, and this in turn must have made the trial period think it was expired.

Did you have any problems during the installation? Did you start the program from the normal icon in the start menu?

I just downloaded 3.2 and once the install finished ran the program to find out that the trial has expired.  I haven't changed anything on my computer, nor installed book mark converter before.

Did you install the program with admin privileges? And did you get any of the datafile error messages mentioned above?
end
