-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Track numbering started by Doug Posted by: Doug on April 25 2004,14:37 Hi, Have been using the program more and more recently, so did the decent thing and registered at last. ![]() Upon using it more though I have come across a few things that (if not already possible) would make it even better IMHO. 1. When a tag has a track number (01, 02 , 03 etc) can it be made into a "01/12" one of 12 type automatically or if not just a simple box somewhere like "mass set tags/flags" to enter the total tracks number so it can append it in to the already set track number? 2. Mass set tags/flags affects both V1 & V2 tags or can it be set somewhere to only affect one or the other? 3. I still think (mentioned before somewhere else) that seeing the V1 & V2 tags together on one screen would be easier. Spotting unsynced tags would be better, becuase you could decide whether the unsynced field is worth changing or not without having to click on the selector everytime on every file just to double check each tag version. 4. The preview option is an excellent idea, but unfortunately does not seem to work correctly. I have noticed amongst others that when things are truncated to fit in a field they show as complete in the preview, which obviously defeats the object of the feature.. ![]() 5. Apart from these little bugbears of mine ![]() ![]() Posted by: Magnus Brading on April 26 2004,00:59 ---------------------QUOTE------------------- Have been using the program more and more recently, so did the decent thing and registered at last. ![]() ---------------------QUOTE------------------- Thanks for being honest and registering. ![]() ---------------------QUOTE------------------- 1. Posted by: Doug on May 03 2004,20:05 Thanks Magnus, There just seems no end to the possibilities of MP3 Tag Studio. Excellent. Ok, now to the issues ![]() Also have noticed with the preview function that when I want to display more columns than will fit across my screen the cursor left and right keys still move the selection down (or up) and not left or right. As I use mainly the keyboard, having to grab the mouse to move the scrollbar across is a pain. I know it is a small issue (and probably not high on any priority list) but it would make the preview function even better. I find it difficult sometimes (I'm starting to think it is just me - not very good with remembering things) ![]() I think this would benefit in more ways than one and help with many functions throughout MP3 Tag Studio. I am no programmer so if this is a major re-write (probably quite extensive I would imagine anyway to re-design the GUI) then just forget it, although it would be cool and make life (at least for me, anyone else?) a lot easier when doing complex and long tag or rename functions. ![]() Keep up the good work, and thanks again for the great forum support. Posted by: Magnus Brading on May 04 2004,00:54 Thanks for your input. Just like you guessed, redesigning the GUI would in many ways sadly be quite a big job, which is a bit down on the priotity list. ![]() ![]() May I ask why you find the hovering filename more distracting than having it e.g. in another undocked tool, like you suggest? You do know that this filename is not an ordinary tooltip, and that you can have it visible at the same time as you type in the template box, right? Posted by: Doug on May 12 2004,20:46 Hi, I know I can have the string visible while I type in the box, but the name does not always seem to appear. The mouse pointer also has to be moved into close proximity anyway in the first instance so if I am using all the keyboard shortcuts I still have to move across to using the mouse at this point in my editing. I would rather just have a configuration where I could arrange to see whichever tabs I wanted together side by side or above one another etc. ![]() ![]() end |
