-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: mass replace filter across folders? started by Dez Posted by: Dez on Mar. 14 2004,00:46 Hi all, Magnus: props for a great prog. I was trying to do a find & replace on all files with featuring OR featuring. OR feat OR feat. OR and replace with Ft., across ~20000 files in the expected amount of artist>album folders. I tried with filter then using another program (NameWiz) on the results folder by folder, then using shell integration on mp3studio to tag as filename*. Is there a faster way to do this? Can i filter across folders and edit the results? If not, i'm thinking that this would be a WONDERFUL addition tot he next release: post the results into a virtual folder so that you can do the regular functions to the files found in the search. Lemme know what you think man. Cheers, & keep up the good work. Dez *thinking about it, it probably would have been worth doing all the name stuff then closing the search window & doing 'tag as filename' on all subfolders from the main music folder. ....AllTHOUGH, this whould then kill all my changes of files with illegal windows characters in the name (?/!etc) Posted by: Magnus Brading on Mar. 14 2004,01:11 Why are you trying to use another program for the replace operation? Are you trying to only edit filenames directly, and not tag contents? And I'm not completely sure what you mean by "Can i filter across folders and edit the results?"? Please try to clarify and I will do my best to answer your question. end |
