TIA Jay Posted by: Magnus Brading on Aug. 31 2002,16:03 When upgrading between major versions, the templates cannot be automatically kept (for all other updates they will always be kept if you use the upgrade patch instead of the full install). If you are a little handy with the Windows registry, here follows some info that might get most of your templates back though. In the following registry key, Mp3/Tag Studio stores some values, e.g. all the templates: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Magnus Brading Software\Mp3-Tag Studio\shellext All templates for the different tools are stored in values with names of the type "XXX_template#", where XXX is the special description for the tool it is for (e.g. "retag") and # is a number. For each tool, you will also find a value named XXX_template_count. It stores an integer, which is the number of templates for this tool. If you change this integer to 1 + the highest numbered template you can see of this tool, most of your old templates should become visible again. Example: You see the values "retag_template0", "retag_template1" and "retag_template2", but the "retag_template_count" is set to the integer 1. You can then change it to the integer 3, and all these three templates will be visible from within the program. Anyway, if you don't have really many templates it might be easier to just type them in again. Major upgrades don't occur often. If you are not very sure about how to use and edit the Windows registry, I strongly recommend that you do not attempt this. end |
