hi

i'd like to be able to open an m3u in mp3ts and edit all the files in it, instead of having to go directory by directory.  i've heard that this isn't possible.  any chance you'd consider adding it?

thanks.

In exactly what way would you edit it? What would be the difference from using a normal text editor?

Magnus - I don't think they're talking about editing the playlist, but editing the MP3s referenced in the playlist. For playlists which reference files in multiple directories, this would cut down on the navigation necessary - rather than drilling down to a dir, editing an MP3 or two, then navigating to a different dir and repeating the process... open the playlist, make your modifications, the MP3s are changed regardless of their disparate locations.

Oh, I see. Well, the "Tag/rename from list" tool will sorta do this, you can tag/rename any number of files based on any data in the file. But if you mean to bring all the files up in a listbox just like the browse tool, and edit them manually, no, this is not currently possible. And I'm not sure how useful it would be at all, since editing files manually will be quite tedious once they are over a certain number anyway, and then the changing of directirories won't make much of a difference anyway (especially if you're using the explorer dirtree to navigate)?

suppose i have all my heavy metal mp3s in a playlist but they're sorted in directories according to artist/album.  i want to add "metal" to the comment field.  now, not every song by "a perfect circle" is metal, so re-tagging every song in the directory won't work.  navigating from one directory to the next could take forever because there are so many metal bands out there, and even worse, so many non-metal bands that have one or two heavy songs.

i think this would be supremely useful for anyone who uses artist/album directory structures... and as far as i can tell, that includes a LOT of people.
