Mp3 files can have so many different kinds of corruptions which are very hard to detect, so I haven't implemented a checker tool because it would only be able to detect a small part of the potential problems anyway.
About an mp3 player, the reason I haven't done this is that if you double-click any file in Mp3/Tag Studio it will be played in your default mp3 player (e.g. Winamp or Media Player), so having an internal player that would still be much less powerful than any such external player seems quite superfluous.
