Hi,

First of all, thanks to Magnus for making this fine program. I've been using it for years and it really kicks ass! :D

I am using version 3.5 beta 22. As of recently, I've encountered a bizar problem which apparantly no one else seems to have, I searched the forum but nobody mentions anything near.

--> The problem is the following: after performing 1. mass setting tags, 2. auto tagging from filenames, 3. auto renaming from tags, almost all tags become empty and I have several private frames added to the mp3 file, frames I did not have before.

It's driving me insane... :(

Here's my reproducable scenario:
Imagine I have a directory with the following file names:

01.Hardware Records - Goldust - Parasitic Dysfunction.mp3
02.Hardware Records - Goldust - Gray Haze _ Twilight Years.mp3

The files have no tags. Here's what I do:

1. "Mass set tags/flags": I fill in the Artist, Album, Year and Genre field --> OK
2. "Auto Tag (from filenames)": <TrackNr>.<TRASH> - <Artist> - <Title> --> OK

I have the little popup Window 'Advanced ID3v2 info' open all the time, no additional frames added yet. The files are now tagged correctly. Now it's time to rename them.

4. "Auto rename (from tags)": <TrackNr> - <Title> --> OK

Now when I go back to "Browse/Edit tags & flags":
- ALL fields are empty, except Title
- I have 2 additional Private frames (PRIV) which I did not have before.

I can reproduce this over and over again.
Anybody had the same issue? Any ideas?
Thanks!

Are there any tags in the files to begin with?

Some kind of initial corruption in the tags of your files would be my best guess in that case.
