I use Tag Studio for all my tag editing. It's a very useful tool.
I have hundreds of tags that were created with the new version 7.2 Musicmatch that are not recognized by Windows XP. I find that deleting the tags in Tag Studio and recreating them in Tag Studio fixes the problem.
Is there a way I can do a mass delete and recreate of the tags without having to re-type in all the information? I know I can copy the information from a tag, delete the tag, recreate the tag and paste the information one tag at a time. Is there a way to do this to a whole directory of tags?

Can you write the tags to a list, using the listmaker tool in Tag Studio? (Look in the upper right corner if you are not seeing it at first) If so, you should be able to import the same list to rewrite the tags.
Alternately, you might be able to use the "Mass clean up tags" undo tool. Select all the options, click execute, let it finish, then click undo. I believe that will rewrite the tag data into the files - don't know if they will be 'corrected' or just restored.
Obviously it is recommended to try this on copies of files first, for testing.

That did the trick, Thanks.
Used "Create Custom Lists" to make a list of the tag data, then used "Mass clean up tags" to delete the tags, then used "Tag/Rename From List" to recreate/restore the tags with the saved data. Now Windows XP recognizes them.
I made backups of the files before doing this but everything worked just fine.
This saved me a lot of time, once again Tag Studio comes through.

I'm glad Mp3/TS could be used to solve your problem James.
And Disposable, that was exactly what I would have suggested, you beat me to it this time, keep it up.
Just for the record though, the undo-method would not have worked, since it (for several reasons) recreates a binary copy of the original tag, not just re-tags the files using the old field data.
