Topic: What is the direction of Sync v1/v2 tags?, Which tags take precedence...v1 or v2?< Next Oldest | Next Newest >

I did some testing with "Sync v1/v2 tags" on the "Direct tag manipulation" tab and I would like to confirm that my conclusions are valid.  Please note that I have Primary ID3 version set to v2 in the "Tagging core settings" (in case that matters).  Here's what I believe that I learned...

1)v2 tags overwrite v1 tags (never vice versa)
2)that holds true even if the v2 tag attribute is blank and the v1 attribute has a value (i.e. after sync both will be blank...the original value in the v1 tag attribute is permanently lost)

Does that sound correct?  Anything else I should know about this?

This behavior is controlled by the three first settings in the "Tagging core" area of the global settings. Please read more about these settings in the help file (which can be brought up to the right section simply by pressing F1 while having selected an option in the tagging core settings screen).

Under the default settings, yes.
