Is it possible to have the program request a value from you when you are executing a macro via the shell extension? I would like to use some user-entered values in a macro, but it seems to use the other selected files as input...

You can supply all dynamic parameters of macros through the command-line itself, with special parameters (see the help file). It is currently not implemented to ask for them when executing a macro from the default shell extension though, no, sorry. :(
