And another thing...........
I want to rename all my files so the artist has the relevent tag
so for example
I want all of eminem to have the tag "total dick" no just joking
I want him to have 'rap' as the tag and so on for other artists,
is this possible
of course it is....maybe??

I don't completely understand the operation you want to accomplish, so if you could please explain a bit more in detail, maybe even with an example, and I'll do my best to help you.

hiya,
I have loads of Various Artist albums and when encoding using EAC you only have the option of tagging the whole album with one genre.
Id like to run thru my collection changing tags based on artists.
so ex
all tracks with the artist tag as Eminem would have the genre tags renamed to rap.
does this make sense?
Basically it will help me when I load my stuff in Mixmeister,
I can hit genre tabs and I get all the rappers sorted together.

Sure, simply use the filter to only process files with a certain artist, and then combine it with setting the genre field to whatever you like in the mass set tool.
