-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Suggestions +---Topic: Changes to Preview Window - Size and field order started by smilingcrow Posted by: smilingcrow on Oct. 22 2004,22:17 The preview feature is invaluable and is only let down by the fact that the window that displays the information is not full screen. Can you give the option to make it full screen! While I’m thinking about it, it would also be useful if you could select which fields to display in the preview window and in what order. That way you can focus on just the fields that you are interested in. Putting V1 and V2 tags next to each for instance might be preferable, as it’s easier to compare them when they are side by side. Even if you don’t allow a completely configurable column order, why not just have the choice of whether the fields are in one of two orders: 1. All V1 tags in sequence followed by all V2 tags. 2. A V1 tag followed by its V2 counterpart, then the next V1 tag and its V2 counterpart etc. Hopefully in both cases you still get to select which fields you want to view. Thanks Crow Posted by: Magnus Brading on Oct. 23 2004,01:03 Why don't you try to drag and drop the fields in any order you like (and resize them however you like too for that matter), and see what happens... And after that you could always try to resize the entire window to any size you like too, by simply dragging its corners. These customizations will be automatically saved for future use too. Posted by: smilingcrow on Oct. 23 2004,13:36 Shucks Magnus, I really feel stupid now. I had noticed that you can drag and drop the columns, but not that the positions and sizes were memorized. I haven’t played around with this feature for ages, so maybe my memory on how this feature functions is off, or you have added new functionality since the last time I used it! Either way it’s made me realise that you have developed this program a lot since I first started using it and I could start exploring it more deeply again. As for resizing the Preview Window, I think I was thrown by the window not having the usual 3 icons in the top right corner, which often can imply that the window is not sizeable. I shan’t make that mistake again in a program. On a very minor note, the Preview Window is not completely accurate in remembering its position. If I place it at the top of the screen, the next time I open it, it is about 1 cm lower than the top of the screen. Thanks Crow Posted by: Magnus Brading on Oct. 25 2004,01:34 I will look into the preview window position restoration problem, thanks for the report. And if there's one new feature you would want to look into, it would be the macros, they are quite cool and useful if I may say it myself. I just noticed that there's a Beta 8, so I'll check that out. Regards Crow end |
