-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: How do you deal with artist names with dash? started by killabee44 Posted by: killabee44 on Sep. 03 2009,22:28 Hi all, How do you handle direct renaming when you have artist names like: Jay-z e-40 q-tip ne-yo t-pain since tagstudio thinks that the "-" in the artist name is the separator between the track name and the artist. So, the song is renamed incorrectly. Thanks for any input. Killabee44 Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 03 2009,23:55 That is why I always use " - " as a field separator, which is also the Mp3/Tag Studio default. ![]() Posted by: killabee44 on Sep. 04 2009,00:13 I also do, but when you are trying to clean up a hundred tracks and there are no spaces before or after the "-", then track names such as the ones I mentioned become a problem. Is there anything I can do about this? Posted by: Magnus Brading on Sep. 04 2009,01:57 You could automatically move these files to another directory by using the direct rename tool with a template containing the extra dash (all files not having it should be non-matched), and then quickly process them there with a special template containing this extra dash for the artist, and then move them back. You could even create a macro for this whole process. Posted by: killabee44 on Sep. 04 2009,06:30 Damn, that would be sweet.. Thanks. I have to start reading on the steps. end |
